M&A DUE DILIGENCEHow I advised Ripple on its long-term growth strategy by connecting Corporate Treasurer pain points, treasury challenges, and Ripple’s product value propositions.
Context
In a 7-week sprint, I partnered cross-functionally with Corporate Development, Product, and an external vendor to research the users and customers of GTreasury, a global leader in Treasury management, Ripple’s acquisition target.
This project required balancing rigor and speed. The C-suite needed actionable insights to answer: What are the top pain points for corporate treasurers? What tools make up their ecosystem? How might Ripple’s products create value? And should Ripple partner—or acquire?
Tasks & Actions
Conducted 16 interviews with CFOs and Corporate Treasurers; accelerated analysis using AI-assisted synthesis to meet rapid decision timelines.
Mapped the treasurer’s core responsibilities, pain points, and tool stack, highlighting where Ripple’s capabilities could deliver the most strategic value.
Framed findings through analogies and visual storytelling to make complex systems and workflows intuitive and relevant for the C-suite and non-treasury stakeholders.
Synthesized insights into strategic implications “move execution closer to the intention”, clarifying both opportunities and risks for Ripple’s acquisition thesis.
Results
Increased UX Research visibility at the C-suite level, positioning the function as a strategic and agile partner for high-stakes product and corporate decisions.
Helped stakeholders build a shared understanding of the market, customer needs, and the strategic fit between Ripple and GTreasury.
Informed Ripple’s $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury, a global leader in treasury management systems, was announced in October 2025.
Due to the recency and the confidentiality of the project, I am unable to disclose additional artifacts. However, I am happy to share more during the interviews :).
